Octaga - Download the Octagon Free Player
The Octagon Free player is a freely available 3D player for both VRML and X3D. It supports the whole profile of X3D which gives users a multitude of visual effects such as multi-texturing.
Cortona VRML client
A free VRML plugin for Netscape and Internet Explorer; runs in Windows and Mac (Classic and OS X). Highly optimized for complex VRML rendering, performance and ease of use. Supports advanced functionality added in Amendment 1 to the VRML97 spec, such as Nurbs (curved surfaces) and GeoVRML.
VRML Browser and Plugin Detector
Detects configuration, browser and such. Also works for some X3D and Web3D plugins.
SGI - Cosmo Player 2.1.5 for IRIX 6.5 and Later
Download site for Cosmo Player for IRIX, the original VRML97 plugin from SGI. Cosmo Player hasn't been updated in some time, and doesn't support the latest VRML features, such as Nurbs (curved surfaces) and GeoVRML. Some newer worlds won't work with Cosmo Worlds. However, it is often the best choice for viewing older worlds that were made with it in mind.
Flux (Media Machines)
The Flux beta plays VRML, X3D and MPEG-4/BIFS. Flux is the creation of Tony Parisi, one of the original authors of VRML.
OpenVRML - Download
The OpenVRML project is building a portable Free (LGPL) VRML browser. The goal for the 1.0 release is full VRML97 spec compliance. Binaries and source are available for Windows, IRIX, Linux and MacOS.
BS Contact VRML
Performing 3D Player for Virtual Reality. BS Contact VRML is the latest release 6.1 of the VRML Player. Previously known as Blaxxun Contact. Good support for multi-user worlds and large scenes using level-of-detail nodes.
